worrying abt my life there too. 7 mths, hope it will pass in a flash.

ooo my flight to shanghai has been confirmed!

i'm flying off on 30 may at 1010 am, T3 :D

will be returning on 1st jan 2010 at night, totally can countdown to my 22nd bday. so old.

in the end i think i may end up not going beijing for my internship afterall. the man who was in-charge of the whole thing had difficulties applying visa for us because his company is in shanghai but he's trying to let us work in beijing, so the authorities rejected his application. sighhhh. the reason given was damn lame la, it was rejected coz we were too young to go beijing to work. like erhhh hello??

anyway the job scope is kinda ambigious, there's no clear structure of what we're gonna do if we really go there. im thinking of dropping even if the visa application got through. the man kept saying we shouldnt keep asking what we're going to do there. he said he has a lot of big projects on his hands and we should go with an open mind, to experience the culture in china and the lives of the common pple etc.

well that's one of the reason i wanna go, to expose myself to different culture and stuff but thats not the only thing i wanna do lehhh. i wanna do something meaningful so that when i come back i can include it in my resume and look pro. i dont wanna just write down "experience culture of china", yanoeeee.


anyway the lady at cso was really nice and she told us that if the whole thing falls through, she'll help us look for alternative internship so that our summer holiday will not be wasted. she also suggested that we apply for this internship in shanghai at a marketing consulting firm, which was set up by a nus alumnus (seems like all nus alumni like to go china to set up firm ah, the prev one also ex-nus biz). this firm seems to be quite famous coz i just visited its website and apparently they've worked with a few big companies such as shangri-la, dbs and ikea. they even put up the various marketing ideas they have designed for their clients on the website la, so cool can. the job scope is also very detailed, basically if i get this i will actually get the chance to conceptualize and carry out real marketing projects.

however, the thing is if i apply for this i will be gone for 6 months! omggg, damn long. it's like going for sep but i'll get allowance and maybe got funding = many monehhhh and it will look good on my cv. in a dilemma plssss!! then i have to skip sch for 1 semester so i'll graduate like 1 semester later than my peers. and when i come back i wont have friends to go for lectures tgt. shit man, finally got ppl wanna go lectures with me den now i wanna go overseas. but then again i can go with friends who are gg for sep next sem laaaa, i think.

i'm also quite afraid coz i'm sibei dependent on my parents and i'm lazy so i cant cook i don't wash my clothes i cant tidy up my table, so i have to learn to look after myself?! the thought scares me plsss. i'm also afraid i cant live up to the company's expectation and have a hard time there. urghhhh.. but i'm really attracted to this internship. my dad also agree that shanghai is the city whereby most ppl go there to do business so it will definitely be good. but my parents are worried about my safety, as much as i'm worried about my own. hahaha!!

ohwellsssss, i have till monday to think it over and i'm also afraid that i'll miss this chance. i cant stand my indecisiveness. :(:(
